A Whiskey Smash is a classic cocktail with just four basic ingredients: whiskey, mint, lemon and simple syrup or sugar. Blackberries give it a tart, sweet twist.
Layer Bird Dog Blackberry Whiskey and several mint leaves into a cocktail shaker and muddle. Muddle mint leaves, a handful of blackberries, and simple syrup in the bottom of your glass and add ice. Strain the contents of the shaker into the glass. Garnish with mint leaves.
Blackberries and lemon juice give the Orange Blackberry Whiskey Sour a subtle bite, while orange juice adds a bit of sweetness that compliments the notes of oak and spice in Bird Dog Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
Muddle blackberries, simple syrup, and bitters in the bottom of a shaker. Add orange juice, lemon juice, and Bird Dog Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Fill the shaker with ice. Shake and double strain into a rocks glass filled with shaved or crushed ice. Garnish with an orange slice or a sprig of mint.
Sage syrup adds a hint of evergreen fragrance and sweet complexity to this recipe, pairing well with the honey and golden raisin tones in Bird Dog Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, 7 Year Old Small Batch.
